She was brought up in Louisiana.

Pokey is not a movie buff.

She loves to listen to music by various artists such as Tupac Shakur, Sade, Alex Bugnon, Trombone Shorty, Beyonce, Luther, Syd, No Limit Soldiers, Teena Marie, and Alicia Keys.

Pokey played point guard at Hahnville High School and earned the 5-time AAU All-American title. Initially, she got famous around the state of Louisiana for having scored the first 3 points shot in a high school game.

She loves to travel around on her motorcycle and owned a 2007 Street Glide in the past.

Pokey credits the efforts of her mother and sister that helped her become a basketball player.

On March 7, 2007, Pokey resigned from being the head coach for the Louisiana State University after allegations of her inappropriate relationship with a former player came into the limelight of officials.

She served as the general manager and head coach for Indian Fever before being fired on September 10, 2019.
